Fully fabricated 9 Inch that is built specifically to handle the abuse of demolition derby with the following features:
- 1/4″ Grade A572 formed center housing shell that’s 40% stronger than typical 1/4″ housings
- 4″ Diameter 1/2″ thick DOM axle tubes that are 75% stonger than a housing with 3″ tubes of the same thickness!
- Face milled center housing after fabrication to ensure a true housing that not going to leak
- Skid plate and drain plug
- 1/4″ thick back brace tied into HD trailing arm mounts
- Threaded coil spring perches
- Shock mounts
- Upper ears jigged on and HD lower mounts installed
- HD billet housing ends/axle savers
- 40 spline Moser hobby stock axles with bronze bushings
- Big bearing nodular third member with gear ratio of choice
- Pinion brake
There has been a need for Ford 9 inch rear end for the builder/driver that does not want one of our fully trussed and braced solutions but one that still provides the strength and durability where failure is not an option.
With this in mind, we set out to put together a fully fabricated 9 Inch that is built specifically to handle the abuse of demolition derby.
This is not a watered down 40 spline rear end built from a street car housing or thin wall drag race components!
What’s included:
• We start with a 1/4″ formed shell for the center housing made out of A572 Grade 50 Steel for increased strength. This high-strength structural steel plate has a minimum yield strength of 50,000 psi and can accommodate 9 inch and 10 inch gears.
• All of this is attached to a 1/2″ face plate for anchoring the massive 4” diameter ½” thick DOM axle tubes. The axle tubes are secured with internal bracing giving them unmatched support into the center section.
• After fabrication, the center section is face milled to ensure the third member mounts flush against the axle housing to prevent any leaks.
• The housing is then outfitted with a back brace that ties into the HD trailing arm mounts.
• Threaded coil spring perches are added to accommodate 1 inch all thread along with shock mounts.
• Next the upper ears are jigged on for the application of your choice either GM or Ford ear placement.
• A new 3.25″ big bearing nodular center section is assembled with 35 spline big pinion PRO ring and pinion (select ratios only), spool and pinion brake.
Rear-end comes to you filled with fluid, broken-in and ready for punishment
